Iconic skyscrapers line the city’s Magnificent Mile which is close to the famous Navy Pier on Lake Michigan. Millennium Park and nearby Grant Park boast amazing sculptures, fountains and gardens, as well as an outdoor concert pavilion, making it a great cultural attraction. Chicago also houses major pro sports teams, hundreds of theaters and the well-known Chicago Art Institute. Other exciting cities in Illinois include Rockford, Springfield and Peoria. Of course, for those not drawn to the fast pace of city life, Illinois is not a state without natural beauty! In fact, Illinois is known for fertile farmland, rolling hills, rivers, and forests. There are 69 state parks in Illinois which provide ample opportunity for outdoor exploration. Living in Illinois, you will experience four distinct seasons including warm, humid summers where the average temperature is a comfy 83 degrees. Winters are cold with lots of snowfall, and spring and fall are pleasantly moderate.
