Maryland is a great location for just about anyone! It’s got a little of everything. With coastal plains and some bluffs in the east, to hills and plateaus in the middle, to mountains and forests in the west, Maryland offers a myriad of sights, activities, and natural experiences. Between its 18 National parks and 54 state parks, fans of outdoor activity will never run out of hiking spots, bicycle trails, fishing holes, and the like. Even the coast offers scenic wonders, with parks like Assateague Island National Seashore and Park, where guests can walk along the beach and gaze upon the herds of wild horses.

Calvert Cliffs State Park is another great coastal park where guests can enjoy the sandy beach, take pictures of the looming bluffs leading to the ocean, or maybe even uncover a fossil! Fans of city life will love the pace and environment of Baltimore, and its much smaller, near-neighbor Frederick. Both cities offer museums, coffee shops, markets, and bustling streets. If you’re a historical architecture, Fell’s Point, a neighborhood in Baltimore, is a great historic spot that has many of its original structures from its establishment in 1763. It’s a great place to walk around, with waterfront restaurants, idyllic streets, and snazzy shops. Ocean City, a resort town on the very eastern edge of Maryland, is a great and lively spot, especially in the summer. The boardwalk is an especially popular experience, in-season, with lots of fun activities, restaurants, and characters out and about. Maryland’s climate is characterized by warm, humid summers, and cold, wet winters. Maryland is a great location to explore and spend your college years in!
