Salem offers historical walk throughs and, playing on its history, is a very festive and popular location for Halloween. While being full of historical and cultural relevance, Boston also offers the sites and comforts of a big city, with all the bustle, coffee shops, parks, and attractions that come with a port city. For fans of smaller towns, Massachusetts has plenty to offer, especially in places like Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. These small beach towns are picturesque, quaint, and full of vibrance and, of course, beaches. Fans of Film may be especially drawn to Martha’s Vineyard, the location where filming for the thrilling classic “Jaws” took place. While most of the state is flatter, coastal plains and hills, western Massachusetts is home to the Berkshires; a mountainous area that is popular for its stunning scenery, outdoor activities, and small, artsy towns. The climate in Massachusetts is characterized by warm, sometimes muggy summers, and cold, snowy winters.
