For those who enjoy caves, Montana has the Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, which offers guided tours through their mysterious limestone caverns. Montana also has three of the five entrances into Yellowstone National Park within its borders. Though it may be a bit pricey for a college budget, Yellowstone provides an unparalleled experience to witness geysers in action and marvel at the unique canyons and scenery around the Yellowstone River. For fans of history, Virginia City and Nevada City offer an immersive experience into what was an old west town, preserved from Montana’s gold rush days. For those who desire the big city experience, Billings may provide what you’re looking for. Montana gets cold and snowy winters and warm, mild summers that typically last about four months.
