Why New York?

When you think of New York, it’s common to think immediately of the state’s most iconic city: NYC (New York City). NYC is home to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Times Square, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway, Central Park, Times Square, and architectural wonders such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Little Italy and Chinatown reflect just a portion of the city’s vast cultural diversity. Perhaps surprising is the state’s varied natural scenery. From forests to farmland to plains and plateaus, New York offers plenty of room for outdoor recreation. Being close to several large bodies of water including Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, and the Atlantic Ocean results in a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons and plenty of snowfall each winter. The Adirondacks, Catskill and Appalachian Mountains run through the state, as well. Adirondack National Park is one of the largest national parks in the country, and picturesque Niagara Falls is another famous, must-see attraction.
