Why South Carolina?

South Carolina has a reputation for being one of the most beautiful states in the country. It’s one of the few that offers mountain as well as ocean landscapes. Approximately 67% of the humid subtropical state is covered in forestland, yet South Carolina is geographically diverse enough to include rivers, planes, salt marshes and a whole string of sea islands along the state’s nearly 3,000 miles of stunning Atlantic coastline. This shoreline contains some of the best beaches of the East Coast, including the famous Myrtle Beach. South Carolina has three state parks and plenty of space for all sorts of outdoor recreation. Or if you prefer the culture of the city, Charleston, one of the oldest cities in the U.S., boasts interesting attractions such as the Fort Sumpter National Monument, historic plantation tours and horse drawn carriage rides. Overall, South Carolina has a lot of appeal when it comes to accommodating a great college experience!
