Why Washington?

Nicknamed “The Evergreen State” for its abundance of dense, green forests, Washington is famous for breathtaking mountain views and stunning scenery. There are three national parks in the state: Olympic National Park, North Cascades National Park and Mt. Rainier National Park, home to one of the tallest peaks in the U.S., 14,411-foot Mt. Rainier. If you’re into hiking, backpacking, skiing, kayaking, fishing, or camping this is the state for you! The moderate temperatures, ranging from 45-79 degrees year-round, allow you to enjoy the state’s many rivers, lakes, mountains, forests, fertile plains, and Pacific coastline. Plentiful rainfall keeps things lush and green! Yet the Eastern side of the state particularly (separated from the west by the Cascade Mountains) enjoys 300 days of sunshine each year. To the west of the Cascades, lives 60% of the state’s population, dwelling in cities such as Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver, and Seattle which is known for coffee, diverse art, the Space Needle, the giant Ferris wheel on Elliot Bay, the infamous gum wall, and pro sports teams such as the Mariners, Seahawks and Storm.
